Laws in every state require people having regular contact with children in paid or volunteer work to obtain clearances showing no record of criminal offenses or of being a perpetrator of child abuse.

This page shows unofficial copies of the clearances for our consultant, Thomas Croke, indicating no record of child abuse.  As we are Pennsylvania based, these clearances were obtained according to Pennsylvania Law and procedure.  Please note that what is posted here are unofficial copies of the clearance certifications.  By Pennsylvania Law, only original papers are official.  What we have posted here tells you -- accurately -- what the originals say.  If you are a parent contracting with us and want to check the clearances officially, let us know prior to your home visit. If you make that request, Tom will bring the originals for your inspection and hard copy copies for your retention.  However we do not bring them routinely.

There are three separate clearances required in Pennsylvania.  The first is issued by the Pennsylvania State Police, indicating that Tom has no record of criminal activity recorded in the state. The second is from "Childline," the Pennsylvania agency charged with recording  reports of allegations of child abuse and criminal activity that would render a person ineligible for a clearance.  That indicates that Tom has no record of a child abuse allegation in Pennsylvania.

State Police Clearance -- this says "no record." This means that Tom has no criminal record with the Pennsylvania State Police.   The line that is blacked out is Tom's personal unlisted home phone number.  Remember this is an unofficial copy.  To see the original -- the only official version -- ask Tom to bring it with him when he meets with you.

FBI Clearance -- This is issued by Childline, but is based upon Tom's fingerprints being compared to FBI files.  "No Record" indicates that there is no record in FBI files associated with Tom's fingerprints.  The word "void" appears in the copy showing, because the original is on paper which produces the word "void" on any scan or photocopy of the original just as you see. There is no possible way to put an accurate copy of the original on the Internet without the word "void" appearing. This underscores the fact that the original is the only official version.

Childline Clearance -- This is issued by Childline, and certifies that there is no record of Tom being involved in child abuse.  The word "void" appears in the copy showing, because the original is on paper which produces the word "void" on any scan or photocopy of the original just as you see. There is no possible way to put an accurate copy of the original on the Internet without the word "void" appearing. This underscores the fact that the original is the only official version.
