This is where FamilyLight sm will help you to distinguish the schools and programs that will meet your needs from those that will not.  At this time you can find reviews of individual schools and programs and the large provider organizations.

Our program reviews written with our Guidelines and our subjective experience as a frame of reference.   As this project matures, we will be expecting programs to respond to a questionnaire  based on the guidelines and our commentary will follow the Guidelines more rigorously.

We have just introduced a new option.  We will now work with families who want less than our comprehensive package. For more information click on this sentence.

We released that questionnaire on April 3, 2009 for schools and programs.  It is clear that there is significant resistance to the questionnaire.  We think we understand the reasons for the resistance.  We also believe that as this project matures and this website becomes more influential, schools and programs will begin to respond to the questionnaire.  We will give greater attention to those schools and programs that do complete a questionnaire.  The time will come when the value of having our attention will exceed the difficulty of completing the questionnaire and the intrusiveness of the questions.  As questionnaire reponses come in, they will be placed at "Q Responses" in our Menus.

When fully developed, we will have extensive service-by-service, program-by-program, school-by-school critical review in this location with considerable guidance for people searching on-line. Find schools and programs reviewed and soon to be reviewed at "Individual Schools and Programs."  Reviews of major provider organizations are at "Major Provider Groups."

We anticipate that some of what we place here will be controversial. We welcome respectful alternative points of view.

Thank you for your patience as we develop this resource.

Disclaimer: No  program review, no matter how positive, is a blanket endorsement. No criticism is a blanket condemnation.  When we express our level of confidence in a school or program, that is our subjective opinion with which others might reasonably disagree.  When we assert something as fact, we have done our best to be accurate, but we cannot guarantee that all of our information is accurate and up to date. When we address compliance with our guidelines, you need to remember that these are only OUR guidelines -- not guidelines from an official source.  We have also set the bar very high, and do not expect any school or program to be in total compliance.  It is not appropriate to draw a conclusion of impropriety (or even failure to live up to conventional wisdom) from our lack of confidence in a school or program or from less than perfect conformity to our guidelines.  Some will say we expect too much. Readers are responsible for verifying accuracy of information supplied here prior to acting upon it. We are not responsible for inaccuracies.
