Monarch School and Monarch Boarding Academy are two separate but synergistic services operated by Bellefaire JCB on the site of the Bellefaire RTC as part of Monarch Center for Autism. Monarch Boarding Academy is a residential program for autistic children and young adults up to age 22. Monarch School is essentially a day school with resources that are available to residents of Monarch Boarding Academy. Some Boarding Academy Students attend Monarch School; others attend schools in the community. Monarch Center for Autism includes a range of additional services, most notably the development and distribution of VizZle Visual Learning Software ®.
Monarch Boarding School offers a choice of levels of support according to needs of residents. Those requiring staff assistance with personal care are housed somewhat apart from those with abilty to attend to personal needs. Further division in housing is by age, gender, and further division by level of independence. Residents might attend school at the Monarch School or go off campus by day to community resources, which may include school, vocational training, employment, or any other applicapble off campus resources.
Monarch School is a day school with extremely sophisticated original design for autistic students at various levels of severity. Full enrollment in this school is an option for Monarch Boarding School residents as is selective use of Monarch School resources.
As of this date, February 12, 2011, FamilyLight has confidence that Monarch Center for Autism offers a constructive contribution to autism services.
While you wait for us to present a more complete review, please look around this website. Look at our Guidelines -- a fairly comprehensive statement of what we believe quality is all about. If you come to a search and planning process with limited experience, this is an opportunity for you to find some principles to measure schools and programs against.
Feedback is invited. We will publish any feedback in good taste. Email FamilyLightResponse@yahoo.com
Disclaimer: No program review, no matter how positive, is a blanket endorsement. No criticism is a blanket condemnation. When we express our level of confidence in a school or program, that is our subjective opinion with which others might reasonably disagree. When we assert something as fact, we have done our best to be accurate, but we cannot guarantee that all of our information is accurate and up to date. When we address compliance with our guidelines, you need to remember that these are only OUR guidelines -- not guidelines from an official source. We have also set the bar very high, and do not expect any school or program to be in total compliance. It is not appropriate to draw a conclusion of impropriety (or even failure to live up to conventional wisdom) from our lack of confidence in a school or program or from less than perfect conformity to our guidelines. Some will say we expect too much. Readers are responsible for verifying accuracy of information supplied here prior to acting upon it. We are not responsible for inaccuracies.
We do not specifically endorse UK Shopping. They "sponsor" our counter.
