Briefly,  this is an adult program for people with both a serious substance abuse problem and a serious mental health issue at the same time -- serious enough to suggest that a typical substance abuse treatment facility would not be appropriate.

Situated in the mountains of Malibu about halfway between the coast and the 101 freeway, the setting of Milestones Ranch is endowed with considerable natural beauty.  The buildings of the ranch are scattered around the area interspersed with buildings for other purposes, and some noticeable items from movie sets, including some amusement park rides that are only there because of having been used in movies. 

The very competent and dedicated staff expertly guides patients who, in some cases, have very profound mental health issues. Our experience includes a young man who severe brain injury who needs has also needed the services of intensive Traumatic Brain Injury rehabilitation.  This has demonstrated to us the very special capabilty they have to gain the confidence and  effectively treat people who would very likely not  be eligible at most other places. 

We have supreme confidence in Milestones Ranch Malibu for the population for which the program was created.
